The puppies are now 1½ days old. They are all fine and all of them has gained weight at todays weightcontrol. Bikita is also feeling fine and eats with great appetite 6 times a day. Besides from very short trips to the garden, she lies all hours of the day with the puppies, and she look after them in every way. We are deeply impressed by the 7 smal wonders. The puppies now have their own albun under Photo, and we will probably upload new pictures there almost every day. Below are a few of todays pictures.

The 13th February, exactly on Bikita’s due date the birth started. It was a really good birth, where everything went normal, and Bikita did an incredibly good job and behaved like she had tried it all before. The puppies were all very alive and kicking even before Bikita got rid of their fetal membranes, and all of them were sucking milk less than 5 seconds after they were born. A beautiful and impressive work from Bikita, who is a very sweet and caring mom to her newborn.

Still no news; all is quiet. Bikita eats and seems content, and the puppies is kicking merrily in her belly. Below is a few of todays pictures of Bikita.

The last week has felt very long for us impatient humans, while Bikita seems at ease and patient, and she moves quite effortlessly around despite her big belly. But of course she rest a lot these last days. Her pregnancy is calculated to end on Monday, and right now it would not surprise me if the birth doesn’t begin before that, for tonight she still eats with great appetite and is also quite relaxed.

Now Bikita has reached the end of the 8th week of pregnancy, and Bikita still has a ravenous appetite and seems altogether at ease, though she is rather big now. When we place a palm on her big belly, we can  feel the small puppies kicking everywhere. Her mammary gland are well developed now, so we dress her proberly when we go out for a walk in the biting cold weather. Lovely to see her walking briskly ahead of us with high wagging tail last night, without taking notice of our laughter, because she doesn’t resemble our elegant princess in that outfit.

It is now the end of the 7th week of pregnancy and Bikita is still feeling fine. She is cheerful and happy on our walks, but she is clearly resting a lot more than usual.
